It is a fact that Bahasa speakers make up nearly two-thirds of the Christian population in Malaysia. Far-sighted Bishops, Senior Pastors and theologians across all denominations have observed that the future strength of Christianity in Malaysia depends on the current strength of the indigenous Christians. And yet the Bahasa-speaking Christian do not even have access to the most fundamental resources to build the faith of their children and youths – the Alkitab!

Many of us grow up knowing that our Christian walk is far from complete without the centrality of His Word. His Word reveals God and Christ to us and directs our paths.  Without Scriptures, we would not know God, we would not know ourselves, nor would we be able to share the good news of Jesus with others.

While most of us can buy a Bible anywhere or read Scriptures at the click of a button, the fact is that there are more than 500,000 Bahasa-speaking Christian children in East Malaysia (and Orang Asli) without access to Bibles.

At Wawasan Penabur, our goal for 2012 is to print and distribute 100,000 Alkitab Kanak-Kanak through the “Satu Anak Satu Alkitab -1M 100K Initiative”.  RM 1.5 million is needed to print and distribute 100,000 copies of Alkitab Kanak-Kanak.

We are asking in faith for RM 1 million for this initiative to cover the printing cost and royalty which amounts to RM 10 per copy. In turn we will make the Alkitab Kanak-Kanak available at RM 5 per copy to the readers in the hinterland, covering part of the transportation cost.  At this price, anyone can afford a copy.

Every time we hit the RM100,000 mark, we will print 10,000 Alkitab Kanak-Kanak for distribution into the interior.
